I’m just a girl trying to figure out this thing called life. Missional and mindful living is my mantra. What is that, you ask?
Missional living is living with a purpose. That purpose, for me, is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. My desire is for my actions and words to reflect God’s heart and for my life to be in line with Scripture. Missional living is a term most often used to describe missionaries. I believe we are all missionaries… even if we live on the same street our entire lives.
Mindful living is living consciously. This is applicable in so many areas… I tend to focus on mindful living in terms of consumption, possession, and ownership. We live in a wasteful nation, but we have the power to live an alternative lifestyle where we turn from mindless consumption and awaken our Spirits to see the bigger picture. Mindful living is living in awareness… to your own self, your neighbors, your community, and your world.
“Perder la vida” is Spanish for “to lose one’s life.”
“If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it.” Luke 9:23-24
